How to set Humidity Range on WILLHI Humidistat: Step-by-Step Guide for proper humidification levels

How to Reset the Humidity Range on the WILLHI WH1436HUM-PRO Humidistat: Step-by-Step Guide

Dialing in the right humidity range on your WILLHI WH1436HUM-PRO digital humidistat is the key to steady, healthy growth — whether you're fruiting mushrooms, keeping tropical plants like philodendrons happy, or running cannabis in a controlled space.

The controller holds a precise relative humidity (RH) level for indoor growing, preventing the mold or dry stress that hurts sensitive plants and tissue cultures. This guide walks you through resetting it, setting your ON/OFF points, and switching between humidify and dehumidify modes. New to humidistats? Our complete humidistat guide covers how they work, wiring to a mist maker and fan, and probe placement.

Why Reset Your WILLHI Humidistat Humidity Range?

In a grow room or humidification setup, humidity directly affects plant health and yield. The WH1436HUM-PRO lets you set your own thresholds — for example, switching on a humidifier below 70% RH, or a dehumidifier above 38% — and its 10A / 1100W capacity comfortably handles any House of Hydro mist maker or fan. Resetting the range keeps the unit efficient and your environment stable.

Preparation for WILLHI Humidity Controller Setup

Power on the unit with the POWER button, and make sure the sensor probe (3.5mm jack) is fully inserted — a loose probe throws EEE/LLL/HHH errors. The display shows the live RH reading (0–100%). Keep your total load under the 10A max so the mist maker or exhaust fan can't overload it; every House of Hydro unit is well within that range.

Step 1: Enter WILLHI Humidistat Settings Menu

Hold SET for 3 seconds until ON appears — this opens the parameters (ON, OFF, CA calibration, PT delay, AH/AL alarms). Use UP/DOWN to navigate; settings save on exit and persist through a power loss.

Step 2: Set ON Humidity Threshold

Press SET to edit ON (the turn-on point) and adjust with UP/DOWN (e.g., 70%). Press SET to confirm. When ON < OFF, the controller runs in humidify mode (boosting RH below the setpoint) — ideal for low-humidity grow tents.

Step 3: Set OFF Humidity Threshold

Press UP to OFF, then SET to edit (e.g., 85% turn-off). When ON > OFF, it switches to dehumidify mode (e.g., ON 38%, OFF 35% for high-RH control).

Step 4: Exit and Test Humidity Control

Press POWER to save and exit — the HUMIDF (humidify) or DEHUMIDF (dehumidify) icon lights while it's running. Watch for overshoot and fine-tune for stable humidity.

Full Factory Reset for WILLHI WH1436HUM-PRO

For a complete reset: hold POWER for 3 seconds to shut off, then press POWER to restart — 888 flashes, then hold SET + UP until the normal RH reading returns. Factory defaults are ON 80%, OFF 85%; reconfigure for your target.
