How To Use a Mist Maker:
Using your new Ultrasonic Mist Maker is easy! Simply insert the silver transducer into the float/ buoy and drop it in some water. It will instantly pump out an endless stream of .5 micron mist to help raise your humidity. To set up you fogger just follow these simple steps:
- Make sure you have your float, the fogging transducer, and power transformer that come in your House of Hydro starter kit.
- Drop the silver ultrasonic transducer into the black float. Tip: Make sure the inner part of the float is fully pressed into the outer shell of the float. If not, the transducer can sit too high in the water causing sporadic operation.
- Plug the silver transducer into the black power transformer and tighten any securing rings if your model has them. Make sure the plug is fully inserted to ensure a good connection.
- Plug in the black transformer to a GFI wall outlet. Any time you are working with electricity, GFI breakers should be used. You can also use a GFI Power strip as well. TIp for making a humidifier: When using the mist maker with a humidistat, plug your GFI powers strip into the humidistat. Then plug the our waterproof fan and mist maker into the power strip to control them simultaneously.
- Drop the unit into any body of water, disinfectant, fertilizer, bug spray, fragrance, ect. DO NOT USE DISTILLED WATER unless necessary. Anything over 20ppm is ok. The water level sensor needs some solids in the water to make a good connection.
- The unit will turn on immediately when placed in water. A thick fog will be generated until you run out of water. A low water sensor will keep your fogger safe, but should NOT be relied upon to shut down the fogger. Sufficient water levels are needed to keep the fogger cool. Water 105F or more will increase wear on the discs and transducer.
- Units can also be hooked to timers or humidistats to control humidity in greenhouses and homes. Check out our extensive FAQ Section for more info!
